Simple and secure collaboration
You mean I don't have to wait for a week or more to have the IT guy approve my website before they add it to the school site? I can do it myself!
— John Evans, Principal
St. Francois Xavier Community School needed a free, easy-to-use website that allowed the school to communicate with parents, teachers, and faculty. Prior to adopting PBwiki, St. Francois Xavier relied on other free sites, such as Geocities, to provide a web presence. The school quickly became frustrated with the free solutions predominantly featuring strategically placed advertising, difficult editing options, and limited capacity to expand upon existing content.
St. Francois Xavier discovered that PBwiki was a cost effective, ad-free solution, which opened the doors to two-way conversation between school faculty and parents. Within two weeks, all of the desired data was transferred into a wiki, with no IT or web support needed. As St. Francois Xavier better understood the wiki's capacity for collaboration and communication, they quickly implemented free wikis in the classroom and began using them to engage students and show off their work. PBwiki's simple email notification system allowed the teachers to see when an edit was made to the page, and if necessary, make corrections and changes.
The website for St. Francois Xavier Community School is now a direct reflection of what is going on in classrooms. Because teachers can easily quickly post and update information, parents know exactly what their child is working on at school.
